Further to the seminar series held in 2014 the project team decided to extend the outreach by consulting regional and local intelligentsia all over the country. As an initiative towards empowering the marginalised Muslim community, Empower India Foundation was engaged in the process of drafting a Long-Term Community Development Project. At this stage of preparation, it was felt that learned views and suggestions can add value to this project.
In 2015 EIF organised district level get-together programmes in which academics, intellectuals, activists and social workers in that area attended. About 50 programmes in fifteen states were conducted with the support of local volunteers and associates. Various NGOs, organisations and institutions helped to organise this programme.
The objective of this programme was to get critical reviews and suggestions on the plan framework and to understand the regional preferences related to this project.
Several prominent personalities, community leaders, activists and academicians attended the get-together programmes and healthy discussions centred on the present situation of the community and ways of overcoming backwardness and achieving empowerment were held.
